CHALLENGE
The Oncology and Haematology Services provides specialist inpatient and outpatient services to Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology and Haematology patients. Services are provided to a large rural area. Treatment services include Radiation Therapy and Chemotherapy.
In order for SDHB to continue to be able to provide the right care and treatment in the right time, in the right place to their community we needed to support them to grow the team - this included attracting more SMO's (Medical Oncologists, Radiation Oncologists) and medical Physicists into the department. As mentioned in the national press, SDHB were struggling to fill these roles, so it was our job to provide an appropriate solution.

SOLUTION
HainesAttract worked with SDHB to really get to know their Oncology and Haematology services - this including learning about the culture, the challenges they were having attracting talent and getting a feel for the physical environment. An overarching concept was developed for the campaign that we bought to life visually and through video content. Candidates were directed to a landing page to find out more about the roles, the team and location. A media strategy was supported in the market by search which our recruitment team managed on behalf of SDHB.
As a result of the campaign we have been able to successfully fill multiple Medical Physicists positions and whilst SMO recruitment is still ongoing we have been able to support SDHB to appoint a locum domestically.
